I am a full-time faculty member and also a pastor. The unit is self-contained with modern fixtures and antique furniture. A living room opens to a dining room, which opens to the kitchen. Down a short hall is the bedroom and bath. You have to go through the bedroom to get to the bath, so it is not good for more than one person unless they are family. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower combination. The bedroom has a four-poster canopy bed that is a double/full size. There is a closet in the bedroom, as well as one in the entryway. The bedroom also has a highboy chest for storage. The living room has a full-size sofa with a coffee table in front of it, facing the TV. There is also a wing chair and a desk in the living room. The mini-split that provides heat and air is located in this room and operated by a remote control. There is also additional heat from the gas furnace (located in the boiler room in the apartment). That heat is paid for by the owner, as well as the water. The dining room has a drop-leaf table with four chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped. Whenever an Airbnb guest would request a kitchen item, I would buy it, so it is quite complete, including small appliances like a toaster oven, blender, etc. A patio in front of the unit has a table and chairs. You can see the metro stop from my front door. It is just across the street. The blue/orange/silver lines run through it, so there is usually a train at least every five minutes. These lines will take you to GW University in less than 30 minutes. To get to Georgetown, you take the metro, then transfer to a 30's bus. Also, you can transfer at L'enfant Plaza to the green line to Howard University or to the red line to Howard's west campus. All the usual tourist sites are easily accessible. A well-stocked Safeway is three blocks from the house. There are also numerous restaurants very close by with a lot of variety, from pizza to Mexican to burgers.
