I will be away on research for the academic year and am looking for someone to live in my beloved apartment while I'm gone. Flexible dates, approx Sept 1 - May 30, with priority to those who can stay for the whole term. Shorter terms also considered. This is a beautiful, move-in ready, fully-furnished two-bedroom apartment in the Cedar Park neighborhood of West Philadelphia. It is a first-floor apartment on a quiet, tree-lined street just steps from Baltimore Ave, which has ample coffee shops, restaurants, a food co-op, and the #34 trolley, which connects the neighborhood to Penn, Drexel, 30th st train station, and to Center City. About the apartment: - Entire first floor of a traditional West Philly twin. High ceilings and large windows throughout! - Front room is a large living / dining / kitchen area, main bedroom is quietly situated in the middle of the apartment, and the second bedroom/office/guest room is in the back of the apartment, with direct access to patio and large fenced-in backyard. - Kitchen is small but mighty! I love to cook and have prioritized maximizing the utility of the kitchen area—well stocked with gas stove, high quality pots, pans, and speciality appliances, spices, and ample pantry storage. - Main bedroom has comfortable queen sized bed, a six-drawer dresser, bedside tables, a large closet, and other necessities. - Second bedroom is currently set up as an office, ideal for an academic or someone who works from home. The office area is equipped with adjustable standing desk, office chair, reliable printer, and bookshelves. There is also a full-sized futon in the room which has an extremely comfortable and supportive mattress (suitable for long term use or for guests). The room could be rearranged to work primarily as a bedroom if desired. There is a large closet and the second bedroom also has direct access to the backyard. - Full-sized, pink! bathroom with tub - Large, fully-fenced-in backyard with patio/sitting area, grill, compost tumbler, and garden space - Ceiling fans in each main room (kitchen area, main bedroom, second bedroom/office) - Large closets in each bedroom; pantry storage in hallway, linen closet in hallway (just outside of the bathroom) - Laundry - coin- or app-operated washer & dryer in basement, where additional storage space is also available - Efficient, modern, quiet window A/Cs in the living room and main bedroom. Both can be controlled by an app. About the area: - My apartment is well-situated on a beautiful, quiet, tree-lined street just steps from Baltimore Avenue and the #34 trolley, which services Penn, Drexel, 30th st train station, and Center City. Door-to-door, via trolley, its 10-15 minutes to Penn's campus, 15-20 minutes to 30th st station, and 20-25 minutes to Center City. - Easy on-street parking (no permit required, though many nearby streets are permitted) - 20-25 minute walk to Penn's campus, 7 minute walk to Clark Park, 2 minute walk to trolley/Baltimore Ave - Easy access also to #64 bus (to South Philly) and #48 bus (to the hospital area) Please don't hesitate to be in touch with any questions - happy to set up a video tour or show the space in person!
