Hi! My husband (Prof at UMass Amherst/Columbia University) and I (psychotherapist) are going to be empty nesters next year and are planning a sabbatical to be closer to my sister and her family. We love the outdoors, hiking, skiing and mountain biking and think Bozeman would be a great place to spend the year. Our adult sons (ages 18 and 20) will be visiting for the holidays so we will need a place that can sleep 4. Our dates are flexible. We are quiet, reasonable, responsible, dependable people and are happy to provide character recommendations for you. I have made friends in Bozeman through my sister, so could get you local recommendations if you prefer (we may even have friends in common). Additionally, we rent our own house out each year in the summers, so appreciate the challenges of being a landlord, and could give you recommendations of our tenants as well. We went on another sabbatical many years ago and it was an amazing experience. We appreciate how hard it is to leave your house behind, and how important it is to feel comfortable with the people who will be there. Please reach out if you are thinking of taking some time away from Bozeman.

Comments: We have a car, but if you prefer to leave yours for us to use (if you prefer to leave yours behind and don't want to do the trickle charge thing), we have excellent references and could use a second vehicle.

We are pet lovers! We had a golden retriever for 13 years who recently passed, and a cat for 15 years who recently passed. Happy to take care of yours, especially if this can be factored into the rent.

About Me
I have been a Professor of Civil Engineering at UMass Amherst since 2008. Previously I completed a post doc at Columbia University working at the International Research Institute in Palisades, NY. I have traveled extensively for my work and research on world water issues.
